Grissom-Smith

Laura Lou Grissom of Birmingham and Derrek Gregory Smith of Birmingham were married in a 6:30 p.m. ceremony July 3, 2009, at Guntersville State Park Lodge with Judge James Wright Woodroof IV officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Curtis and Sharon Grissom of Athens. Her grandparents are Mayme McAlister, Doris Grissom, both of Russellville, the late B. Lano McAlister, and the late Earl O. Grissom.
The groom is the son of Donna and Henry Smith of Parkman, Maine. His grandparents are Donald Kraft of Northport, N.Y., Phillimina Kraft, of Long Island, N.Y., and the late Harold and Ellen Smith.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Cutis Grissom.
The bride and groom were attended by their sisters and brothers-in-law: Dana Nichole Edwards, sister of the groom, and her husband Andrew Charles David Edwards of Glastonbury, Conn.; Gretchen Elizabeth Ekiss, sister of bride, and her husband James William Ekiss of Norwalk, Conn.; and Lee Ellen Sharp, sister of the bride, and her husband Derek Paul Sharp of Birmingham.
The flower girl was Garrison Greer Sharp, niece of the bride. The ringbearer was Gentry Carlisle Sharp, nephew of the bride.
Music was provided by Blue Sky String Quintet.
A reception followed the ceremony at Grandview Ballroom at the lodge.
After a wedding trip to The Dominican Republic the couple returned home to Birmingham.
