William Edward Draper

The funeral for William Edward Draper, 79, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McConnell Funeral Home with James Bridges and John Norman officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Draper died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Limestone County to Sam Pat Draper and Nellie McLemore Draper. He was a member of the Church of Christ and retired from Redstone Arsenal.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jewell Draper of Athens; one daughter, Kathy Harper and husband Fred of Athens; four sons, Michael Dean Draper and wife Teresa of Elkmont, Anthony Draper, Gregory Draper and wife Ann, and Heath Draper, all of Athens; one sister, Edna Ray Berzett and husband George of Athens; one brother Arvon Draper of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Draper, Marty Pylant, Chad Harper, Robert Pack, Richard Sadler and Spencer Black.



Joseph Edward Dugger II

The graveside service for Joseph Edward “Jake” Dugger II, 60, of Ardmore, Tenn., will be at 1p.m. Thursday at Gatlin Cemetery with Allen Stafford officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Dugger died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at his residence.

“Jake” was born Dec. 23, 1945, in Athens to Joseph Edward Dugger and Lorene Watkins Dugger Chapman. Jake lived in Ardmore since age 18. He attended Columbia Military Academy in Columbia, Tenn. He was an avid Harley-Davidson rider.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bojo Dugger; and one sister, Betty Dugger.

He is survived by one brother, Ronnie Dugger and wife Kathy of Fredericksburg, Va.; one sister, Barbara Sanders and husband Ronnie of Ardmore; four nephews, Butch Sanders and wife Stephanie, Timothy Sanders and wife Carrie, Jason Dugger and wife Jessica, and Chris Dugger; two great-nephews; and one great-niece.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be all his dearest friends.



Doris Lucille Hacker

The graveside service for Doris Lucille Hacker, 93, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Spry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hacker died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at Limestone Health Facility.



Flora Parsley Haggard

The funeral for Flora Parsley Haggard, 76, of Athens was at 1 p.m. Monday at Spry Funeral Home with Dwight Ridinger officiating. Burial was in Lentzville Cemetery.

Mrs. Haggard died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at home. She was born March 20, 1930, in Limestone County. She was a member of Seven Mile Post Road, a member of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow E. Haggard.

She is survived by one son, Phillip Haggard and wife Linda of Athens; one daughter, Pam Berzett and husband Larry of Rogersville; one brother, T.J. Parsley of Dayton, Nev.; three grandchildren Cherree Whisnant and Jeannie Wilbourn, both of Athens, and Shane Haggard of San Diego, Calif.; five great-grandchildren, Ashton Whisnant and Harley Whisnant, both of Morgan City, Alex Berzett and Noel Berzett, both of Priceville; and Heath Wilbourn of Athens.

Pallbearers were David Green, Bobby Green, Shane Whisnant, Dustin Wilbourn, Keith Gernert and Anthony Elkins.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.



Eunice Christine King

Eunice Christine King, 74, of Athens died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at Medical Center East in Birmingham.

Arrangements will be announced later by McConnell Funeral Home.
