West Limestone’s softball team won its second straight Limestone County tournament title on Saturday following a 10-0 victory against Ardmore.

Lilly Bethune (RBI) and Aubrey Bethune (three RBIs) each recorded three hits for the Wildcats (16-2) to lead the offense, while Katie Lyn Kyle allowed only one hit over five strong innings in the circle for coach Molly Fenn’s squad. Ella Yarbrough (RBI) added two hits, while Lilee Legg (RBI), JuliAnn Kyle (RBI), Katie Lyn Kyle (two RBIs) and Brylie Posey provided one apiece. Haley Waggoner, meanwhile, drew three walks and one of Lilly Bethune’s hits cleared the fence.

“I think every game of this tournament was a true team effort,” West Limestone coach Molly Fenn said. “Anyone in the lineup at any moment could’ve stepped up and delivered — and that’s a great feeling as a coach. Ardmore has a really talented group, and we knew it was going to be a battle if we had to play them twice, so I’m really proud of the way we played a complete game. We were solid in the circle and on defense, and we were really disciplined at the plate. I couldn’t be happier for our team and the seniors. They are true leaders and deserved this one.”

Ardmore, meanwhile, won both the junior varsity and junior high championships.
