Lindsay Lane Christian Academy announced that Robby Parker has been named the next Head of School, beginning at the conclusion of the current academic year. Parker will succeed Steve Murr, who will be stepping down after 12 years of dedicated service to the academy.
Parker joins Lindsay Lane Christian Academy following his tenure as the Upper School Principal at Whitesburg Christian Academy. Since 2020, he has implemented significant advancements, including AP courses, ACT preparation, health science electives, senior internships and world-class athletics. His leadership has consistently resulted in 100 percent college matriculation, with a focus on ensuring every student completes at least one college-level course during high school.
Prior to his work in private education, Parker dedicated 31 years to Madison City Schools, where he served as a history teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal and superintendent. During his time as superintendent, Madison City Schools earned “A” ratings on state-issued report cards each year and was recognized as the top producer of National Merit Semifinalists statewide.
Parker holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Samford University, a master’s degree in Administration from the University of North Alabama and is a graduate of the University of Alabama’s Superintendents’ Academy. His achievements have been widely recognized, including being named the 2014 Alabama PTA Principal of the Year and the 2019 PTA Alabama Outstanding Superintendent.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Parker is an athlete and a man of strong faith. He and his wife, Anita, have been married for 37 years and have two adult children, Tyson and Seth, as well as five grandchildren. Parker has served in various capacities at Madison Freewill Baptist Church, where he continues to teach an online Bible study, and he currently attends Whitesburg Baptist Church.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Parker as the next Head of School at Lindsay Lane Christian Academy,” LLCA Board Chairman Eddie Alley said. “His proven leadership, commitment to academic excellence, and unwavering faith make him uniquely equipped to guide our Academy into the future. We are confident that he will uphold our mission to honor Christ while providing an exceptional education for our students.”
