Athens Rec Center registering for spring sports now

According to their website, athensalabama.us/175/Parks-Recreation, Athens Parks and Recreation’s mission is “to develop, operate, and maintain a parks & recreation system which improves the quality of life for citizens and visitors through sports, parks and programs.”
Athens Parks and Recreation does this in several ways, but currently their focus in on some of the county’s youngest residents. It has five sports actively registering and one registration opening in April.
Active registration
- Youth spring baseball (ages 5-12) closes Feb 10
- Youth spring softball (ages 5-12) closes Feb 15
- Spring archery (ages 8+) closes Feb 15
- Youth spring soccer (ages 5-13) closes Feb 20
- Youth spring track & field (ages 7-12) closes Feb 29
