Skylar Townsend scored a team-high 27 points as Tanner’s varsity boys took down Whitesburg Christian 79-58 last Friday night to claim the Class 2A, Area 14 regular-season title.

TreJ Lett (10 points) and Blake Jackson (nine) were next in line offensively for the No. 10 Rattlers, who improved to 10-6 on the season. Townsend, meanwhile, was honored for eclipsing 1,500 career points with the program.
