The Decatur Police Department is currently working a missing persons case.

Last night, the Decatur Police Department was notified that Justin Letson, 35, was last seen on or around a large group of boats parked off the shore of Point Mallard at approximately 10 p.m. It was not discovered Letson was missing until sometime later. Letson is described as being 6’0” tall, about 195 lbs., with blonde hair.

At this time the Decatur Police Department, ALEA, and the Morgan County Rescue Squad are conducting a detailed search of the area. Please avoid the area while search efforts are underway.

Update as of 3:35 p.m.

According to an updated release from the Decatur Police Department, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the body of Justin Letson was recovered from the Tennessee River. 

No foul play is suspected at the time. 

The Decatur Police Department was assisted in the missing person case by the Morgan County Rescue Squad, ALEA Marine and Aviation and the Lawrence County Rescue Squad.
