ACS celebrate Veterans Day

SPARK Academy at Cowart Elementary and Athens Middle School each held Veterans Day programs Monday. John Frazier was the guest speaker and community veterans, parents, and community leaders were invited to attend.

The Athens Middle School Peer Helpers planned and hosted the celebration held in the school gymnasium. The AMS band and choir performed patriotic tunes as veterans in attendance were recognized. Students also gave special acknowledgment to the teachers who served in the United States Armed Forces.

At Cowart, second graders performed two special Veterans Day program. A practice performance for the students followed by a patriotic performance for parents. Prior to the performance, Cowart kindergarteners had a guest as TSgt. Knox spoke to them in honor of Veterans Day.
