Man accused of exposing self at Athens McDonald’s

An arraignment date has been set for a Huntsville man accused of exposing himself at the Athens McDonald’s restaurant in March.
Athens police arrested Stewart Ray Wakefield, 46, of 165 Bremerton Drive, on a misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure on May 10, court records show.
His arraignment is set for 9 a.m. June 17 in Limestone County District Court before District Judge Douglas Patterson, records show.
According to the complaint filed April 8 in District Court by Athens Police Investigator Kelly Fussell, Wakefield “exposed his genitals under circumstances in which he knew his conduct was likely to cause affront or alarm in a public place or on the private premises of McDonald’s…”
The restaurant is on U.S. 72.
In his appearance bond, Wakefield’s employer is listed as the Department of Defense.
He remains free after posting a $1,000 bond.
