Athens City school board members approved the following hirings, transfers, retirement request and supplemental contracts during their regular meeting Thursday, April 18:

Employment: Joaquin Herrera, itinerant instructional technology specialist; Nicole Stockman, varsity cheerleader coach; John Austin Harwell, temporary lawn maintenance; and Emily Green, latchkey teacher assistant at iAcademy at Athens Elementary.

Transfers: Heather Patterson, Athens Intermediate School to SPARK Academy at Cowart; and Dewayne Drakeford, AIS dean of students to assistant principal.

Retirement: Jeanne Keenum, AIS.

Supplemental contracts: Cody Gross.
