West Limestone slides past Elkmont

West Limestone scored all of its runs in the first four innings, and Chayse Carter pitched masterfully in relief, as the Wildcats took a 14-7 victory Thursday over Elkmont.
Carter entered the game with two outs in the third inning and Elkmont having already scored seven runs. He held the Red Devils scoreless the rest of the way, and the Wildcats’ offense put plenty of runs on the board to take the victory.

The teams combined to score 19 runs in the first three innings. West scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and three in the second to go up 9-3. Elkmont answered with four runs in the top of the third to cut the lead to 9-7, but that was as close as the Red Devils would get.
West scored three runs in the bottom of the third and two more in the fourth. Those were plenty of runs for Carter to work with, as he only allowed four hits in his 4 1/3 innings of work.
Gage McKelvey had three hits and three RBIs to lead West Limestone, while Branson Owens also had three hits and drove in two runs. Clayten Pugh had a double and three RBIs, while Alec Baugher and Braden Tuten each hit a triple and drove in two runs.
Ty Roberts tripled for Elkmont, while Shane Boger doubled and drove in two runs. Jordan Fielding also hit a double for the Red Devils, and Preston Robins had two hits.
Ardmore splits doubleheader
Ardmore and Madison Academy showed just how strange the game of baseball can be sometimes, as both teams took blowout victories in a Thursday doubleheader. Madison Academy won the first game 18-2 before Ardmore came back to take the nightcap 13-3.

Madison Academy led the first game 7-2 before scoring 11 runs in the top of the seventh to turn the game into a blowout. Bryson Rolin had two hits, including a double, for the Tigers, and Landon Martin had a hit and an RBI.
In the second game, Ardmore overcame a 3-2 deficit by scoring seven runs in the bottom of the fourth, then ended the game with four more runs in the fifth.
Ardmore’s Hogan Whitt had a huge game, with a single, double, triple and four RBIs. Bill Williams also had a hit and two RBIs for the Tigers. Joe Neal Douthit was the winning pitcher.
Lindsay Lane 7, Ider 3
Lindsay Lane took the lead with three runs in the fourth inning and held on for a victory Thursday over Ider.
Drew Turpen led the way for the Lions, with two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Camden Shields also had a hit and two RBIs for Lindsay Lane, while Max Morrison and Caleb Johnson each had a hit and drove in a run.
Shields, Ray Anderson and Micah Perkins combined on the mound to strike out 17 batters and hold Ider to just three hits. Shields and Anderson each pitched three innings, while Perkins pitched the final inning.
Falkville 14, Clements 5
Falkville scored seven runs in the top of the second inning to take an early lead and later the victory Thursday over Clements.
Brady Moore hit a home run for Clements, while Jacob Guimarin had three hits and an RBI for the Colts. Dorian McCullough and Cole Wales each had two hits for Clements as well.
Fayetteville 5, Athens Bible 0
Athens Bible was held to just four hits in a shutout loss Thursday to Fayetteville.
Fayetteville scored two runs in the first and added single runs in the second and third to take a lead it would not relinquish.
Clayton Hamm, Hayden Pierce, Cade Abernathy and Henderson May had hits for Athens Bible.
