Susan Kay Lewis

The funeral for Susan Kay Lewis, 40, of Harvest will at 11 a.m. today at Spry Funeral Home with Mike Moore officiating. Burial will be in Apostolic Cemetery.

Ms. Lewis died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Huntsville Hospital.



Christine Vinson

The funeral for Christine Vinson, 83, of Decatur, will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with Archie Hampton and Dr. Edwin Morriss officiating. Burial will be in Legg Cemetery in Limestone County.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Ms. Vinson died Friday, July 14, 2006, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Limestone County. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Mary Lou Dancy Chapter 320 and the Joe Wheeler Chapter #291 United Daughters of the Confederacy. She worked for the Auburn Extension Service in Hartselle for 40 years.

She is survived by one sister, Sarah Gray and husband Jim of Decatur, several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Irene Porter Vinson and Archie Monroe Vinson; one sister, Clara Vinson; and three brothers, Emory “Bud” Vinson, Porter Vinson and Hoyt Vinson.

Pallbearers will be John Vinson, Shawn Gray, Dr. Edwin Morriss, Dwight Austin, Kelly Austin and Mark Hill.



David Baker White

The funeral for David Baker White, 75, of Lester, will be at 2 p.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Arvid McGuire and Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.

Mr. White died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at his residence.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954. He worked as a counter salesperson for Consolidated Electrical Supply.

He is survived by his wife, Annelle White of Lester; two sons, Dr. Jay White and wife Mary of Tupelo, Miss., and Randy White and wife Kristie of Lester; one daughter, Rita White Williams of Lester; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters Lorie White, Mary Downs and Barbara Lott, all of Athens; three brothers, Sammy White and Jerry Smith, both of Athens and George Smith of Huntsville; and two step-brothers, Tommy E. Smith Jr. of Athens and Hollis Smith of Scottsboro.

He was preceded in death by one step-brother, Alvin Smith, and his parents William “Jim” White and Elizabeth White Smith.
