Tanner overcame a fourth quarter deficit to tie the game and then sweated out a 68-64 double overtime victory against West Limestone Monday night.

The game was a slugfest throughout, with neither team being able to pull away. West Limestone led 26-25 at halftime, and expanded the lead to 40-35 after three quarters.

However, Tanner’s defense held West to just nine points in the fourth quarter, and the Rattlers came back to tie the game 44-44 at the end of regulation, sending the game into overtime.

One overtime was not enough to separate the teams, but Tanner finally pulled away in the second overtime to take the four-point win. Nathan Montgomery struggled through regulation, but scored all 10 of his points in the overtime periods, including hitting three 3-pointers, in leading the Rattlers to the win.

Malik Atkins led Tanner with 18 points, while J.J. Jones scored 16. Montgomery and Jaquan Thompson both scored 10 points for the Rattlers.
