MOULTON (AP) — A mother and her son have died in a collision with a tractor-trailer rig in northern Alabama.

News outlets reported that 41-year-old Sarah Eileen Aldridge and her son, 14-year-old Noah Alexander Hampton, of Lawrence County, died in the wreck Tuesday morning south of Bremen in Cullman County.

Alabama Senior Trooper Chuck Daniel said in a news release that a car Aldridge was driving crossed the center line of a road and collided with the tractor trailer rig. Authorities said the truck driver was not hurt.

Both of the victims were wearing seat belts.

Lawrence County High School Principal Thomas Jones said counselors were at the school Wednesday and Thursday. Services are planned Monday.
