• Mothers/deacons march. Peace Missionary Baptist Church will hold a mothers and deacons candlelight march 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the church at 1214 Plainview Circle, Athens, with Pastor Donnie Malone and New Zion Missionary Baptist Church family.

• Swamp John’s dinner. Friendship Men’s Group will host a Swamp John’s dinner from 4–7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Friendship Church, Door #2, 16479 Lucas Ferry Road, Athens. • Friends and family day. Peace Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their friends and family day and homecoming 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at the church, 1214 Plainview Circle, Athens. Notable guests include Pastor Larry Lockett and New Hopewell M.B. Church.

• Concert. HCCNA will host a concert featuring Kavita Krishnamurti, a Bollywood playback singer, at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 607 Airport Road SW, Huntsville.
