• Lesson series. Jackson Drive Church of Christ and Don Miller will present a series of Bible lessons 7 p.m. nightly through Friday, March 9, at 1110 Jackson Drive, Athens. More information: Owen Griggs, 256-497-3236.
• Gospel meetings. Northside Church of Christ will hold gospel meetings March 11–14 at 1201 N. Jefferson St., Athens. These are the times and speakers: 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday, March 11, with Don Miller speaking; 7 p.m. Monday, March 12, with Greg Chandler speaking; 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, with David Cox speaking; and 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, with Steve Ferguson speaking. • Swamp John’s. Round Island Baptist Church will host a Swamp John’s fundraiser from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at the church. Cost is $11 per plate and includes dinner and dessert. More information: 256-233-1230.
• Youth revival. Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Huntsville will hold its annual youth revival 6 p.m. nightly March 13–15 at 380 Indian Creek Road. Guest evangelist is the Rev. Jeremiah Chester, pastor of St. Mark Baptist Church. Local choirs will perform the song service. Public invited.
• Mother-daughter brunch. David’s Temple Church of Tanner will hold a mother-daughter brunch at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, in the church’s Family Life Center. Instead of speaker, event will include a fashion show in which anyone can participate as a model. Models should dress like they are going to church.
• Lunch series. St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church will host a Lenten Lunch series at noon each Wednesday through March 21 at the church on the corner of Washington and Beaty streets in Athens. Lunch is free but donations will be accepted.
• Gospel meetings. Harvest Church of Christ will hold gospel meetings March 25-28 at the church at 8941 Wall Triana Highway, Harvest. Times are 9:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 25; and 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 26-28. Speaker is Josh Carter.
• Gospel concert. First Independent Methodist Church will host a performance by Marvin Morrow at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at 13904 Zehner Road, Athens. The event is open to the public and will include a love offering.
• After-school program. The after-school program from 3–5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at David’s Temple Church in Tanner accepts children ages 5–18. Homework assistants, tutoring and study hall are available. Van pickup is available to all Athens City Schools except Athens High. Children from Tanner High can ride the bus.
