The Athens Police Department is seeking the public’s help in solving a series of car burglaries that occurred Tuesday night, an official said.

Capt. Trevor Harris said at least four vehicles were broken into on Hollydale Drive, Bellview Drive and Longview Street off Browns Ferry Road near Lucas Ferry Road. Stolen items included a cell phone, car battery, coats and a handgun.

Those with information about the thefts are urged to call the department at 256-233-8700.
