Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said multiple simulations would be run throughout the evening and that night to ensure all teams are on the same page. Some officers were also given the opportunity to use simunition, a type of nonlethal training ammunition similar to paintballs but half the size and traveling twice as fast when fired, according to APD Capt. Trevor Harris.
