Closings and garbage for Thanksgiving week

All state, county and city offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The News Courier will also be closed both days. We will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27.

Banks and post offices will be open Friday because it is not a federal holiday.
County garbage pickup
There will be no change to the pickup schedule the week of Thanksgiving. Routes will be run on regularly scheduled days, including Thanksgiving. Routes will be run early because of the holiday, so residents are asked to place garbage out the night before.
City garbage pickup
Garbage and bulk trash scheduled to be picked up Thursday will be collected Friday. Garbage and bulk trash scheduled to be picked up Friday will be collected Saturday.
