Martin Methodist College kicks off 148th academic year

PULASKI, Tenn. – Martin Methodist College will welcome 960 students on campus next week to begin the college’s 148th academic year.
Martin Pride Days will begin on Saturday, Aug. 19 with M-Day (Martin Move-In Day) where faculty, staff and upperclassmen will welcome 350 new students as they begin their college careers at MMC. Martin Pride Days activities will continue throughout the week leading up to the first day of class on Wednesday, Aug. 23.

“This is a very exciting time at the college as we prepare to welcome our returning students back to campus and to start getting to know our new students,” said Robby Shelton, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “We are looking forward to a great year and to seeing all the wonderful things this class of incoming freshmen will accomplish while at MMC.”
On Tuesday, Aug. 22, the annual Martin Pride Days concert and fireworks show will be held on the Campus Green beginning at 6:30 p.m. and will feature the Celebrity Allstar Band. With former members of Earth Wind & Fire, Bette Midler, Janet Jackson and Kenny Loggins, the CAB delivers an exciting and dynamic show that will bring the house down. The community is invited and encouraged to attend this event.
The 2017-18 academic year will officially begin on the first day of class with Opening Convocation at 11 a.m. in the Curry Christian Life Center, and Pride Days will conclude with a block party at the Student Union Building on Thursday, Aug. 24.
