“When officers arrived they found one male, who had been shot, lying on the street. He was dead,” Johnson said.

Officers also located one female on the porch of a residence that had been shot in her leg, Johnson said. Another male was also on the porch and had been shot in the arm. The male and female on the porch were transported by ambulance to Athens-Limestone Hospital where they were treated and later released, Johnson said.

Johnson said investigation into the case is ongoing.

“At this time it appears this was a domestic incident,” he said. “We’re being told an ex-boyfriend of the female came to the residence on McClung Lane and confronted her about her current boyfriend. After an argument a gun was pulled and shots were fired by the ex- boyfriend. The new boyfriend ran back in his house got his pistol and shot the ex-boyfriend. Neither the deceased nor the female lived at the residence.”

No one has been arrested in this case, Johnson said.

“Our department has not been notified by the Coroner’s office that family of the deceased has been notified. Currently we’re unable to release any information on him,” the chief said.

No arrests have been made at this time.
