NORTHPORT, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say they have captured a man they believe robbed a Northport bank.
Northport police tell local media that investigators developed 34-year-old David Alan Lawley as a suspect after the Thursday robbery at the BB&T bank in Northport.
Authorities say the suspect entered the bank and presented the teller with a note demanding cash. The suspect said he had a weapon but didn’t display it. He then fled on foot.
Hoover police later found Lawley in a vehicle and arrested him without incident. He was charged with first-degree robbery.
It’s unclear if Lawley has an attorney.
