Tickets are now on sale for the 2017 Limestone County Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet.
The banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at the Limestone County Event Center. Tickets for the 15th annual banquet are $30 and can be purchased at the United Way office at 419 S. Marion St., Athens.
The Limestone County Sports Hall of Fame golf tournament will be on the day of the banquet this year instead of the Friday prior to the banquet. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. at Southern Gayles Golf Course.
The organization will induct eight new members as part of the 2017 class. The 2017 class consists of a legendary softball coach and several multi-sport stars who went on to represent the Athens-Limestone area at the collegiate level.
“We are once again excited about our induction class,” said LCSHOF president Jeff Hodges. “The 2017 class is a group of individuals who are well deserving for their accomplishments on the athletic field and also for the way they represented their schools and Limestone County while excelling in their respective sports.”
The 2017 class is Jayne Clem, Calvin Franklin, William “Bill” Legg, Robert Malone, Bill Ming, Leslie Ramsey, Dewayne Uselton and Thomas Woodroof Jr.
