Jury selection began this morning in Limestone County Circuit Court in the trial of Noah McGlawn, who is charged with attempted murder.

The 24-year-old Tennessee man is accused of shooting motorcyclist Brandon Matlock of Athens on Sept. 10, 2012.

Matlock was driving his motorcycle along U.S. 72 East in Athens when McGlawn fired at him from his van and struck him twice, Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said in 2012.

Matlock later recovered.

McGlawn fled the scene but later turned himself in to police, telling them he was angry at his father and just felt like shooting someone, the chief said.
