• Gospel meeting. Hobbs Street Church of Christ, at 1602 W. Hobbs St., Athens, is holding a gospel meeting through Feb. 19 featuring speaker Charles Abernathy of Florence. He will speak at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, and at 9 and 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19. Topics include The Lost Son (Saturday), and Our Actions (9 a.m.), You (10 a.m.) and Faithfulness (1:30 p.m.) on Sunday.
• 75th anniversary. Greenbrier Baptist Church, at 7939 Greenbrier Road in Madison, invites the public to take part in its 75th anniversary celebration on Sunday Feb. 19. Shannon Knight, speaker and soloist, will bring the message and music. Things get underway at 10:30 a.m. Lunch is served at approximately 12:30 p.m. A free 75th anniversary mug will be given to all present. • Unity Tea. St. Mark Primitive Baptist Church, at 740 Sanderfer Road, Athens, will hold a Unity Tea at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. Guest Speaker is Rhonda Beddingfield of St. Mark. The tea is hosted by the church Mother Board. The public is invited.
• Black History Month celebration. David’s Temple Missionary Baptist Church presents its annual Black History Month celebration at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26. The guest speaker is minister Keith Shoulders. Frank Travis will present a poem. David’s Temple Youth choir will sing and praise dance. The public is invited.The church is at 11273 Stewart Road in Tanner.
• Black History Month celebration. Grace Missionary Baptist Church, at 549 W. Elm St., Athens, will celebrate Black History Month at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26. The theme is “Celebrating the Legacy of President Barack Obama.” The public is invited.
