Two men were being treated Saturday afternoon after being shot, one in an arm and the other in a leg, the chief said in a press release issued Saturday.
Police had received a report of a shooting on Hardy Street about 2:35 p.m. Shortly thereafter, they received a call from Athens-Limestone Hospital reporting that a shooting victim had come to the emergency room in a private vehicle. The man with the leg wound was taken to Huntsville Hospital by MedFlight helicopter.
On Saturday afternoon, investigators had been unable to interview either man because they were receiving medical treatment, the chief said.
