A bullet struck 29-year-old Michael Deangelo Mosley in the abdomen. After being shot, he briefly talked to officers on the scene and was then taken via MedFlight to Huntsville Hospital.

Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said Mosley had surgery Thursday night and again Friday morning. He did not know Mosley’s condition as of The News Courier’s Friday deadline.

Turner is 5-foot-10 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. Though his last known address is in Athens, Johnson said he has been in other Limestone County locations and in Pulaski, Tennessee.

Turner should be considered armed and dangerous, Johnson said. Anyone with any contact with him should contact the nearest law enforcement agency or the Athens Police Department at 256-233-8700.

Mosley is a registered sex offender who pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl in 2015. Johnson said investigators did not have a motive for the shooting.
