A woman accused of having pseudoephedrine receipts and a recipe for methamphetamine in her purse and a man accused of having pills in a flashlight are facing drug charges in Limestone County after two meth labs were discovered behind their residence on Tuesday.
Catherine Smith Barker, 29, of 23768 Pepper Farm Lane, Elkmont, and Chad Andrew Bolin, 34, same address, were arrested Tuesday afternoon each on charges of first-degree manufacturing a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, records show.
Deputy Stephen Young, public information officer for the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, said the Sheriff’s Office received a call Tuesday from a man who wanted deputies to escort him to the residence on Pepper Farm Lane. When deputies arrived at the home, they suspected meth was being manufactured, Young said, so they obtained permission from Bolin and Barker to search the residence.
In Barker’s purse, they found a recipe for quick, one-pot meth and numerous receipts for pseudoephedrine, an ingredient that can be used to make meth, Young said.
Inside a flashlight in Bolin’s bedroom, the deputies found 1½ tablets of Subutex, a drug used to treat pain as well as treat addiction to narcotic pain relievers, he said. In the bathroom, they found lithium batteries, which can be used in the manufacture of meth.
In the backyard, in a pickup driven by Bolin, deputies found a meth lab, which included a cook bottle and gas generator, and they found numerous items in the back of the truck used to make meth, Young said. While searching a vacant trailer in backyard, deputies allegedly found a second meth lab, including a gas generator and components used to make meth, he said.
