What locals need to know for Nov. 5 General Election

With the Tuesday, Nov. 5, General Election a week away, local voters need to be familiar with the Limestone County Sample Ballot. A copy can be found on Page 5 of the News-Courier’s Oct. 29 edition.
Extra copies of this sample ballot can also be found at the Clinton Street Courthouse Annex, at the Secretary of State’s website www.AlabamaVotes.gov, and at the News-Courier’s website.
Polling locations are also available at www.AlabamaVotes.gov and www.usa.gov/. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Election Day. All voters are required to present a valid form of photo identification before casting a ballot.
The deadline to register to vote in order for Alabama electors to cast a ballot was Monday, Oct. 21, in the state of Alabama.
The deadline to cast an absentee ballot, for those who will be unable to vote in-person on Election Day, is this Thursday, Oct. 31. Absentee ballots can be filled out in-person at the Limestone County Circuit Clerk’s Office, located at the Limestone County Courthouse at 200 W. Washington St.
Limestone County Circuit Court Clerk Brad Curnutt’s office will be open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. and then 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
