The funeral for Donald Dean Evers, 78, of Elkmont, Ala., will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Spry Funeral Home with Marshall Norman officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2008. at the funeral home.

Mr. Evers died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at home.

Mr. Evers was born Jan. 24, 1929, in Spencer, Neb. He was a retired carpenter and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Priscilla Williams of Elkmont; three sons, Larry Evers of Oregon City, Ore., Douglas Evers of Boise, Idaho, Gary Evers of Veneta, Ore.; one sister, Margie Gersdorf of Watertown, Wis.; one half-brother, Duane Odden of Albany, Ore.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Steve Williams, Spencer Williams, Tommy Williams, Ben Dewberry, Luther Johnson and Gresh Downs.
