A man who authorities say had a pound of marijuana on him when he was pulled over for a traffic stop on Quinn Road also had “dope in his sock” while he was being booked into Limestone County Jail, said Sheriff Mike Blakely.

Eric Cordelle Bass, 20, of 1012 N. Madison Street, was stopped by Lt. Jay Stinnett and Officer Justin Flanagan, Blakely said. He was initially charged with first-degree illegal possession of marijuana.

“When they got to the jail to book him, he had a bag of dope in his sock so they charged him with promoting prison contraband,” he said.

That discovery led to a search warrant for Bass’ home.

“They went back to his house and found drugs there,” Blakely said.
