Mr. and Mrs. David Garrick of Vicksburg, Mississippi, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberlie Lauren Garrick of Jackson, Miss., to John Claiborne Jackson of Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bowen King of Athens and Mr. James Alan Jackson of Jackson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Margaret Garrick, Grenada, Miss.; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Garrick, Grenada; and the late Mr. Joseph Daniel Garrick. She is a 2000 graduate of Warren Central High School and a 2004 graduate of Mississippi State University, where she received a B.A. degree in marketing. She is employed by MEA Medical as a clinical manager.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John E. Pennington and Mr. and Mrs. James A. Jackson. He is a 1999 graduate of Athens High School and a 2006 graduate of Mississippi State University, where he received a B.S. degree in agriculture economics. He is employed by University of Mississippi Medical Center as an application software analyst.

The wedding is planned for May 31, 2014, at Evdora Welty Commons in Jackson.
