Publix supermarket in EastSide Junction at U.S. 72 East and Lindsay Lane will officially open for business at 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to developer Bill Ming, who spearheaded the project to bring the upscale market here.
Wednesday’s official opening follows a Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting at 8:30 am. Tuesday.
The EastSide Junction project is estimated to create 150 jobs over the next five years, generate gross sales tax revenue of $24 million in the next 10 years, including $1.5 million in municipal sales tax, and generate $1.2 million in ad valorem taxes in the next 10 years, including $200,000 in municipal ad valorem taxes.
This is the second Publix for Limestone County. The first Publix opened on County Line Road in Madison annexed portions of the county earlier this year.
