Mr. and Mrs. William Cody Sweetland Jr. of Niceville, Fla., formerly of Athens, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sabra Ann Sweetland to Samuel James Rochell, son of  Bobby Rochell of Elkmont and the late Anne Waggoner Rochell. 

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Atkins of Spanish Fort, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Sweetland of Athens and the late Cherie Ann Sweetland. 

She is a graduate of Niceville High School in Niceville, Fla, and a graduate of Auburn University where she received a degree in hotel/restaurant management. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

She is employed by I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, Ill. 

The prospective groom is the grandson of Janet Waggoner and the late Gerald Waggoner and Mr. and Mrs. Pink Green Rochell. 

He is a graduate of Elkmont High School and a graduate of Auburn University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in poultry science. He has also received an master’s degree at Auburn and is currently pursuing his PhD in animal science at the University of Illinois.

The wedding is planned for May 25, in Auburn.
