Athens Golden Eagles Indoor Marching Arts recently competed at the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit (SCGC) Championship, held at Western Kentucky University. The competition brought together top programs from across the region in a celebration of talent, precision and artistry.
“Our Athens High School and Athens Middle School Winter Guard, Indoor Percussion and Indoor Winds represented Athens City Schools with pride and professionalism on the championship stage,” read a statement from the school system.
The indoor percussion ensemble earned 2nd Place/Silver Medal; the indoor winds earned 3rd Place/Bronze Medal; and the winter color guard earned 5th Place.
“Witnessing the growth in our indoor marching arts groups’ performances is incredibly rewarding. The opportunities available to our students continue to provide them with the tools they need to be successful members of the Pride of Athens and beyond,” said Dr. Tyler Parker, Director of Bands and Fine Arts in Athens City Schools.
