Limestone County Sports Hall of Fame announces 2025 class

The Limestone County Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors recently announced its Class of 2025 inductees.
This year’s induction ceremony will be held on June 14 at the Alabama Veterans Museum in Athens. Tickets for the event, which begins at 6 p.m., can be purchased through the United Way of Athens-Limestone County.
“We are once again pleased to honor and recognize an outstanding group of inductees who represented Limestone County well through their accomplishments in athletics and in the literary field,” LCSHOF President Jeff Hodges said.

Pam Brown – The former Athens High School basketball standout scored 1,234 career points in leading the Eagles to two state championships. Athens had a 116-22 record during Brown’s four-year career. She was one of just 1,600 high school players nationwide nominated for the first-ever McDonald’s All-American High School Girls Basketball Team.
Jill Clark – Clark was a three-sport star at Ardmore High School. She was named All-State in basketball in 1993 after averaging 22.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. During her prep career, she was also named to the All-County and All-Area teams in softball and volleyball. Clark was the starting center fielder on the 1993 state champion softball team.
Bobby Coggins – An outstanding point guard in basketball, Coggins helped lead Athens High School to three consecutive county championships and averaged 20 points per game during his senior year. He was a member of the Athens College basketball team that became the first in the state of Alabama to win a game in the NAIA Men’s Basketball National Tournament.
Michael Crutcher – A former basketball standout at Elkmont High School, Crutcher led the Red Devils to the first sub-regional appearance in school history. He later played two years at Walker Community College before ending his basketball career at Samford University.
Keith Dunnavant – An author, filmmaker, sports writer and magazine writer, the Athens High School graduate has penned several important and influential football books. He has written books on several sports icons such as Paul “Bear” Bryant, Bart Starr and Joe Montana. Dunnavant also authored the book “The Missing Ring,” which chronicled the undefeated 1966 Alabama football team.
Reshard Langford – Langford was a tremendous athlete who competed in four sports (football, track and field, basketball and baseball) at Tanner High School. He was a first-team All-State selection in football after rushing for 1,459 yards and scoring 30 touchdowns during his senior season. He played football collegiately at Vanderbilt and was a four-year starter at safety for the Commodores. He later played in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions.
Jack Smith – A three-sport star for Athens High School, Smith helped lead the Eagles to an 11-1 record in football during his senior season. Smith was also a member of the Athens basketball team, which won the area championship the same year. He played two years of basketball at Snead State Community College, averaging 15 points per game. He later earned a basketball scholarship to Troy State, where he was a two-year starter who averaged 18 points per game.
