Creativity and technology combined in an exciting way at iAcademy at Athens Elementary recently as second graders used 3D printers to design and create their very own bubble wands.

“This project has been an excellent way to bring STEM to life for our young learners. It excites me to see how eager the students are about what they have imagined and created, ” said Brittany Wiseheart, iAcademy WOW Lab Facilitator.

This activity introduced students to the fundamentals of 3D modeling and the engineering process while engaging them in a fun, playful project that encouraged imagination and hands-on learning. Students utilized their creativity, technology and problem-solving skills to brainstorm, sketch, digitally model and 3D print their custom bubble wands.

Students ventured outside to test their creations in a celebration of bubbles.

“We love how this project allowed students to see their ideas come to life, one layer at a time,” Wiseheart said.
