The Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association is excited to announce the theme for the 2025 AL-MS-TN Rural Tourism Conference, which will be hosted in Athens on Oct. 20 through Oct. 22, at the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives.

After winning the bid last July, the conference planning committee has been hard at work organizing vendors, impactful speakers, outdoor tours and more for the conference attendees that will flood into the city this fall.

While it is not common to have a specific theme for each year’s conference, the Athens-Limestone Tourism Association wanted to demonstrate how essential rural living and tourism are to where Athens has been, where Athens is, and where Athens is growing as a community.

“Rooted in Rural” will feature as much of Athens-Limestone County’s diverse landscape as possible with hands-on experiences for attendees to hike the trails, treasure hunt in downtown retailers, tour the attractions and explore the delicious local cuisine.

Registration is now open for the conference on the AL-MS-TN website and more details will become available leading up to the conference on the Athens-Limestone Tourism’s Facebook page.

While officially hosted and organized by the Athens-Limestone TourismAssociation, this pivotal event would not be possible without the generosity and support of their community partners: Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce, Athens Main Street, City of Athens, Limestone County Commission, Limestone County Economic Development Association and the Greater Ardmore Chamber of Commerce.
