Addison Mikel ripped a game-tying RBI double and then scored on an ensuing error to propel Ardmore to an 8-7 win over West Limestone on Thursday night.

The Wildcats trailed 4-3 entering the seventh inning but grabbed the lead following a 3-run homer by Haley Waggoner and added to it with Ella Yarbrough’s RBI groundout.

The Tigers, however, didn’t fold. Makena Hall and Payton Pennington drew walks to open the bottom half of the frame and came around to score shortly afterward following an error by West Limestone. Mikel’s base hit off the right-field fence then plated Ragan Brownlow to knot things at 7. 

Mikel, though, attempted to stretch that double into a triple, forcing a throwing error that ultimately allowed her to touch home plate and end the game.
