The Limestone County Soil & Water Conservation District is offering free trees from 9-11:30 a.m. March 3, or until they are gone, at the EMA Building, 1011 W. Market St., Athens. This location is across from the post office.

This effort is done to promote the planting of trees to reduce flooding, provide shae and support local wildlife habitats.

Trees available will include Pin Oak, Redbud, White Dogwood, Red Maple, Pecan, Chestnut Oak, Red Oak, River Burch, Sourwood, Black Oak, White Oak and Tulip Poplar.
