Three years and nine months.

What makes you proud to be an educator?
I am proud to be an educator because it gives me the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of the students I teach.
What has your experience in the education field taught you?
My experience in the education field has taught me to be thankful everyday for the things you have in life. Being a teacher is so much more than just holding the title of “teacher.” Teachers hold many other titles than just “teacher”
What do you enjoy most about working for Limestone County Schools?
I enjoy the opportunity to make an impact on my students. I feel like teachers are a family that are all working together to accomplish the same goal. Anytime that I need assistance there is someone always willing to help.
How do your students inspire you?
My students inspire me everyday to be thankful for what I have been given. On those tough days when things get hard they remind me to be happy and thankful, because they are always happy to be at school.
What are your hobbies?
In my free time I enjoy hunting, fishing and playing golf. I enjoy spending time with my wife and little boy. In the fall you can find me on the football field as well.

The Alabama Teacher of the Year Program honors and recognizes excellence in the teaching profession by identifying outstanding classroom teachers at local, district and state levels. The Teacher of the Year Program is open to any public school classroom teacher, librarian, counselor or other certified individuals in a K-12 setting.
The Limestone County Schools System honored each Teacher of the Year at the annual Teacher of the Year Banquet held on Monday, Dec. 2. The Limestone County Schools District-Level Elementary (K-6) and Secondary (7-12) Teacher of the Year, along with the Educational Support Person of the Year, was announced at the special event. These teachers will then represent Limestone County Schools in the Alabama Teacher of the Year state competition.
