Athens’ Spencer Dowland committed to Mississippi State following an official visit on Sunday.

The standout offensive lineman, who announced his decision via social media, decommitted from Auburn on Tuesday, Nov. 18 after being a part of the Tigers’ 2025 class since September 2023.

The 6-6, 290-pound Dowland is a 3-star prospect and currently rates as the No. 40 offensive tackle in the country, according to 247Sports. He also held offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss and Florida State.

Dowland graded at 90 percent this past season and will compete in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game — scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14 at Mobile’s Hancock Whitney Stadium.
