RICMBA Women’s Conference announces 2024 scholarship recipient

The Round Island Creek Missionary Baptist Association Women’s Conference announced its 2024 scholarship recipient: Berkely Preer, a recent graduate of James Clemens High School.

Preer will receive the $1,000 scholarship to help fund her education at the University of Alabama, where she will major in theater and acting. She also plans to minor in business.

Preer was active in many extracurricular and volunteer activities during her time at James Clemens. These activities included; the school’s honor program, varsity competition dance team member, theater advanced productions, summer aid at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center, student ambassador, beta club member, international thespian society member, young advocates for equality club, creative writing club and others.

Preer’s parents are Bryon and Tamera Preer. She is also a member of Pine Grove M.B. Church, where the Rev. Dr. C. Jermaine Turner is her pastor.
