Football For Women Camp

The Athens High School football team will host its annual football for women camp for women in the region to showcase through skills on the gridiron. The camp will take place on July 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Athens Stadium. The cost of the camp is $20. For more information on registration and payment please visit acs-k12.org/camps.

The Athens-Limestone County Public Library will hold a public meet and greet event with Terah Shelton Harris, author of “One Summer in Savannah” and “Long After We Are Gone.” The even is set for Thursday, July 25, from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the community room of the library.

Make Your Own Candle

The Athens-Limestone County Public Library will hold a candle making event with Flirty Flame Candle Company at the library on Thursday, July 25, at 6 p.m. The cost of the program is $25 for a 9 ounce jar and $35 for a 16 ounce jar. Fridays After Five

Athens Main Street will conclude its Friday After Five summer music series on Friday, July 26, on the east-side steps of the Limestone County Courthouse. ASU Homecoming Celebration Weekend

NARFE Chapter Meeting

Greater Mater Competition

The Athens Farmers Market will host their second annual Greater Mater Competition on Saturday, July 27, from 8 a.m. til 12 p.m. There will be live music and free tomato sandwiches handed out on the day. Attendees are invited to submit their own homegrown tomatoes to see who has the best tomatoes in the Athens-Limestone County area. Miller Cemetery, in Rogersville, will hold a decoration day on Saturday, July 27. A brief business meeting at 11:45 a.m. will be followed by lunch. Goat stew will be served, but please bring a covered dish to share.

The 32nd annual American Farm Heritage Days will be held at the Limestone County Sheriff’s Rodeo Arena on Friday, Aug. 2, and Saturday, Aug. 3. The Piney Chapel Antique Engine and Tractor Association will host the event that starts at 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 2. There is a $5 admission fee, but children 12 and under get in for free.

Yard Sale

Annual Revival

The third annual summer concert on the square in downtown Athens, Summerfest, will return on Saturday, Aug. 24. The event is set to start at 5:30 p.m. on the east-side steps of the Limestone County Courthouse. All guest are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for the event that is going to last till 8:30 p.m.

PAWS at the Park Dog Walk

The Limestone Child Advocacy Center announced the upcoming PAWS at the Park dog walk event, scheduled for Saturday, September 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at Big Spring Park in Athens.This family-friendly event will invite dog lovers and their furry companions to join in a one-mile stroll through the historic Downtown Athens area, followed by a vibrant festival filled with exciting activities and games tailored for both dogs and their owners.

Fiddlers 5K and Fun Run

The Athens State University Alumni Association will host the Fiddlers 5k Race and Kids Fun Run event on Saturday, Sept. 28.
