Athens State University to celebrate homecoming and summer commencement

Athens State University will welcome faculty, staff, students and friends back to campus for its Homecoming Celebration Weekend.
The weekend’s events will begin Friday, July 26, with a Homecoming Dinner Celebration at 6 p.m. on the Founders Hall Green, with a casual dinner to be served at 6:30 pm.
Over dinner, guests are invited to visit and reconnect with former classmates, faculty and friends while enjoying musical entertainment into the evening time.
Tickets for Friday’s events are $10 for adults and $5 for those 12 and younger.
Saturday, July 27, Athens State University will celebrate the Class of 2024 at the summer commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. in Carter Gymnasium.
During the ceremony, Athens State University will also honor the Athens College Class of 1974, which will celebrate the semi-centennial reunion of the 50th year of its commencement alongside current summer graduates.
They will cross the stage in full regalia to receive special recognition prior to the awarding of diplomas for the graduating class of 2024.
