The Athens Gators swim team won the Alabama Recreation & Parks Association (ARPA) District I championship meet this week in Florence to remain unbeaten on the season. 

The Gators had around 60 swimmers qualify for the upcoming ARPA state meet — slated for July 26-27 in Opelika — with many earning competition spots in six different events.
