Separate crashes claim life of Athens woman

DECATUR POST — A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 7:44 p.m. Thursday, March 14, has claimed the life of an Athens woman, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The pedestrian, Amber L. Lankster, 39, was killed when she was struck by a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. Lankster was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Prior to impact, Lankster was involved in a previous crash also as a pedestrian. The crash occurred on Alabama 99 near Sugar Way Road, approximately seven miles north of Athens, in Limestone County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
