How many years have you been in education? 5 years
How many are with Limestone County Schools? This is my 4th year with Limestone County Schools.
What makes you proud to be an educator? Seeing my students succeed makes me so proud. Whether it is something they’ve been working on at school or something they’ve been trying to accomplish on the ballfield, I love seeing the reaction when they finally get it. I know how good it feels as an adult to finally do something you’ve been putting a lot of effort into, so to see these kids that I care about so much meet one of their goals is so rewarding.
What has your experience in the education field taught you? Don’t let yourself get too comfortable and complacent. It’s nice to have a routine, but in my experience, your students learn better if you mix it up every once in a while. Also, it’s important that we, as lifelong learners, continue to stay up-to-date on strategies and methods to better serve our students. Things that worked in the past for some, may not give the same results for everyone.
What do you enjoy most about working for Limestone County Schools? I am thankful for the opportunities that Limestone County has provided me. As a lifelong learner, LCS has provided me with professional development opportunities to continue my education and grow in my profession to better serve my students.
How do your students inspire you? My students continue to inspire me with their strength to overcome whatever life throws at them. They continue to learn and grow despite some of the challenges they may face in their lives — both academically and personally. My students are truly resilient.
What are your hobbies? I love to read, travel, and spend time with my friends and family.
