Athens’ varsity boys basketball team continued its superb start to the season this past week, taking down Davidson 60-46 to win the inaugural Cactus Cantina Mako Classic at Orange Beach.

The Golden Eagles, who improved to 6-0 overall, knocked off McAdory (66-61) and Smiths Station (64-28) to corral a spot in the title tilt, which took place Tuesday.
