Thank you, Mr. Wales, for, hopefully, in the Oct. 15 edition of The News Courier, making people aware that Athens is becoming a “cookie cutter” town with lookalike houses being built on every available piece of land.

Why can we not have land for playgrounds, parks, ponds, walking trails and nature trails?

Do we want to be known as the largest, most populated city in Alabama rather than a large, quaint, beautiful Athens?

I do not understand all they are building, but maybe it brings in more money to build more cookie cutters.

Look around, folks, and you will understand what Mr. Wales is concerned about.
